Amsterdam 2026
Welcome to Amsterdam 2026
We are delighted to invite you to the Annual Society for Research into Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida (SRHSB) Conference, taking place from September 16-18, 2026, at the Amsterdam UMC Hospital, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Since its founding in 1956, the SRHSB has been committed to advancing knowledge, fostering understanding, and supporting research aimed at the prevention, treatment, and management of hydrocephalus and spina bifida.
Amsterdam UMC is a centre involved in spina bifida care, and it is important to remember spina bifida is not just a neurological condition; as we know, it affects multiple aspects of a patient’s health. This year, at the conference, we aim to adopt a multidisciplinary approach to spina bifida, expanding the focus beyond neurology and neurosurgery. In addition to key neurological and neurosurgical topics, we will highlight areas such as rehabilitation, urology, paediatrics and other essential disciplines.
This comprehensive approach promises to make the congress not only engaging but also highly relevant for all specialists within spina bifida care. The conference will bring together leading experts from a wide array of disciplines—including spina bifida and hydrocephalus research, and as such, it’s an opportunity to gain insights across various fields, ensuring a well-rounded and impactful experience for all attendees.
Researchers from all disciplines are invited to submit abstracts, contributing to the collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of this year’s congress.
As part of our commitment to fostering excellence in the field, the SRHSB will once again offer prestigious awards, including the Early Career Award, the Conference Essay Prize and several Conference Presentation Prizes! Please see the ‘Funding & Awards tab’ and links here.
