Dear Colleagues, Researchers, and Friends,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 Society for Research into Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida (SRHSB) Annual Scientific Meeting, taking place from August 6–8, 2025, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and The Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, Ohio.

This meeting brings together some of the world’s leading minds in pediatric neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, spinal deformity correction, fetal surgery, maternal-fetal medicine, urology, neonatology, and biomedical engineering—all united by a shared commitment to advancing care and improving outcomes for individuals with hydrocephalus, spina bifida, and related disorders.

This year’s theme, “Bridging Innovation and Collaboration: Advancing Care in Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida,” reflects our dedication to multidisciplinary teamwork, cutting-edge research, and translational science that directly impacts patient lives. We have curated an exciting and diverse program that includes:

  • Keynote lectures from internationally recognized experts in neurosurgery, fetal intervention, and spine surgery.
  • Thematic sessions focused on engineering in hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida, prenatal treatment of neural tube defects, and emerging therapeutics.
  • Panel discussions on spinal deformity correction, urologic management, and innovative surgical approaches.
  • Vision 2030 Roundtable, where we will collectively explore the future of research, policy, and treatment strategies.
  • Poster sessions and networking events, providing opportunities for early-career researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders to engage in meaningful collaborations.

This marks only the third time in the Society’s 45+ year history that this esteemed international conference is being hosted in North America, making this a particularly exciting opportunity to foster global partnerships and strengthen our collective impact on the future of care for patients with hydrocephalus and spina bifida.

On behalf of the Scientific Committee, NCH, OSU, and our esteemed partners, I extend my gratitude to all speakers, attendees, and sponsors who make this event possible. I look forward to welcoming you to Columbus and sharing in what promises to be an inspiring and transformative meeting.
